Cost timeline
Each point is a model's current cheapest price, plotted against its release date. Prices use the same cheapest-offering resolution as the Cost Explorer.
Log-scale Y axis (price spans orders of magnitude across models) — matches the Cost Explorer's chart convention. Colour is assigned per provider from the site's 17-colour chart palette; if a modality ever has more providers than that, later providers also switch marker shape (circle → square → triangle → diamond) so no two providers look identical. Hover a point for exact details — the tooltip always names the provider. Points with a dashed outline (and a "~" price in the tooltip) are token-billed audio models with no native per-character or per-minute price — their position is an estimated $/minute-of-audio conversion, not a verified rate; see the model's own page for its real pricing.
