1 credit = $0.020 USD (read from the API pricing table). v2.1 "1536³ pro" = 45 credits ($0.90); "1536³ fast" = 25 credits ($0.50). Per-generation cost is geometry credits (scale with resolution) + a fixed 10-credit texture charge + a fixed 5-credit PBR charge (v2.0 and above). Earlier lines: v2.0 1536³ = 35 cr ($0.70) / 1536³ pro = 45 cr ($0.90); v1.5 (no PBR) = 15 cr ($0.30, 512³) up to 40 cr ($0.80, 1536³ pro). Portrait-optimised variants priced the same as their general counterparts.

How Hi3D rates across core capability dimensions, with the task-level evidence behind each rating.
High native resolution (2048³ on v3.0) is the main selling point; third-party comparisons cite Hi3D/Hitem3D among the sharper hosted options. No independent geometry metric.
Image-to-3D only; fidelity to the reference silhouette is reported as good. No text or multi-view conditioning.
Fixed 10-credit texture pass; PBR materials available on v2.0 and above (fixed 5-credit charge). No standalone re-texture endpoint.
No published quad / low-poly / target-polygon controls.
No rigging or animation endpoints — static mesh output.
Single image only.
A "fast" mode exists on v2.1; no published latency figures. Higher resolutions (v3.0 2048³) are correspondingly slower.
Ratings are estimated — limited independent data is available for this model.
Operator guidance
Choose Hi3D when you want the highest hosted output resolution from a single image and don't need text input, rigging, or topology control. Call the first-party API (docs.hi3d.ai) for the v3.0 2048³ line; fal carries v1.5-v2.1 at the same $0.02/credit rate with no signup step. For text-to-3D, multi-view, or a full asset pipeline (rig / remesh / segmentation), Tripo or Meshy fit better; for open weights, Hunyuan3D or TRELLIS.
Use cases
- High-resolution image-to-3D where output detail outweighs cost
- Product / prop reconstruction from a single reference photo
- Portrait-to-3D (dedicated portrait-optimised variants)
Limitations
- Image-to-3D only — no text or multi-view conditioning
- No rigging, remesh, segmentation, or standalone re-texture operations
- Architecture undisclosed; quality claims are vendor / third-party-comparison based
- Not open-weights
